Flowers

Don’t you just love flowers? I especially like what can be done with them these days and make them just about any color that you can imagine! That’s what I decided to do with the flowers for this kit -- I colored them to match the 6 colors of this kit. They are huge in format, but you can size them down. Freebie preview and links below.

It’s another rainy day here in Brooklyn and usually I absolutely love the rain, but I think it’s finally getting to me. I have a horrendous sinus headache and I’m feeling so blue today. The backyard is such a mess with weeds and what little grass we have is about knee high. It seems that any day that it’s been nice enough to be outside to get the grass cut, we’ve been away. All the days that we are home it rains. Fortunately the front yard looks nice thanks to the yard guys. Our neighbor pays to have his front yard taken care of and was told that it wouldn’t cost anything additional to do our yard too. Since we basically share a front yard (we live in half a double) we get our yard done for free! It’s been great; otherwise, our neighbor would be totally upset with us.

On my soapbox so if you don’t want to read, just skip down to the next paragraph. I feel that it’s my dh’s job to do the yard and take care of the house repairs (or pay someone else to do it) since I do the inside stuff. It’s a fair trade, don’t you think? That’s how I grew up and that’s how most of the people I know have handled the outside work. I’ll work on flower beds, but I won’t weed wack the lawn (and believe me, our yard is SO small that’s all that needs to be done and takes about 10 minutes!). For some reason, though, my dh won’t do it. So we look like poor slobs and I feel really bad for the neighbors that have to put up with us. I guess I’ll have to go out on the next nice day and do it myself. Otherwise the weeds will be waist high on me!

Off my soapbox now. Sorry for that rant. It’s just a sore spot with me.

There are only 3 parts of “A June Wedding” left. That’s a good thing because next Friday I’m leaving on a jet plane for places north. I’ll be visiting my sil in Michigan from June 26-July 6. There will be a blog train leaving the station while I’m gone, but my part is finished and uploaded and I’ll get the post scheduled so that you won’t miss out.

Tomorrow I’ll be gone all day, again, at church in the morning and then heading to PA to visit our kids. I really miss them and haven’t seen them for 3 weeks. This empty nest syndrome is not what it is cracked up to be, at least in my opinion. So, no more freebies until Monday.

Have a great weekend and be blessed!
